When did you say that particular day is when people ensure they cross the road safely to reach their spawning ground?

Good for you BB - I would be up for it too if anything was done around here. Strange, but I never saw one toad on its way to the pond but there were about 6 in one place on the spawn. Could hear them from quite a distance ..... rivet, rivet - very nice. Do you think the heron would eat the spawn? :-(

Not really Dawn..not until tey become frogs and toads.! Thats why such large numbers laid...many casualties am afraid, but some do make it !

That's nature again for you then BB. Plenty seem to hatch ... usually we can't mow the grass for a couple of weeks as they are everywhere :-))

But many do mow the grass Dawn....preferring to have things just so rather than allowing for nature to take its course..: (

Wildlife doesn't like Tidy, does it, which is good for me, lol, fits in well here. Funny today, I tried to rescue an adult toad from somewhere he shouldnt have been, I gently grabbed his leg and he gave out that awful squeek, so I left him be and apologised to him, lol.

Tell more Dawn...presumably he was ok ?

He was in our swimming pool. It's uncovered at the moment and no chemicals in there but he went to the bottom, I will get him out tomorrow!
