Look who was lerking in my pond!
just wanted to share this pic with you that i took in October 2007. My daughter had said there was a snake in our pond, of course i thought "yea right" but there was and i managed to get a quick photo as it came out to sniff the air (scarey!)

Every time I look at this shot, I am even more amazed...the focus is perfect! and the snake is so intent on the lense... you should copyright.

He's a beauty! Well done, two medals, one for bravery and one for top photography. Thanks for sharing. What gets me, your daughter called you, the snake was still there when you rushed out with the camera? Or did you creep up. You know when they lift up their head they mean business. They actually smell with their tongue as well.

It stayed in our pond all afternoon. i crept up on it. we dont see many snakes over here - i have only seen a couple in my life.

Was this just his eyes adn silly tongue peeking out of the water to breath...he is beautiful...my dad had a big pond on the property where I was raised....he grew bull frogs in it and the snakes came in to eat the frogs...they were thick there...he had and awful time getting rid of them.
