I have been very lucky in my garden. About ten years or more ago I made three nest boxes specially for sparrows and the first year two of the three were occupied. About three years ago I replaced the the three original boxes with three boxes, each of which has three compartments. Last year six apartments were occupied and each had two broods. This year I have put up another single box with a nest cam in so hopefully I will get some video of the nesting birds. I have also made a nest box for tits and there is already some interest being shown in it.

Wow! Toto that sounds excellent well done u :) Where are the Sparrow Boxs Positioned ? Id love to get some up in my garden so in the future hopefully they 2 will have residants like your own? :)

Two are high up on the back of the house which is facing and one is high up and west facing. You should avoid putting boxes up in an exposed south facing position as the sun could make the birds too hot and even kill them.

Thanx Toto My Back Garden House wall faces North/west so i guess it would be Good place for 1 :)

Nice photo Jacque, he must be very tame.

If you put a box up there's a good chance you will attract them. Don't forget to make the hole big enough for them, it needs to be 38 mm in diameter. Also do it quickly as one of my sparrow boxes is already occupied.
