it dates back to the 6th century TT. it was left in ruins in the 17th century but was restored by the office of public works

had a mad building craze here for a few yrs, few beautiful old buildings were demolished , including a complete viking settlement, thankfully thats stopped and hopefully no more historical buildings will be knocked down.

I really do not like it when a building of such beauty and human devotion is demolished by carelessness of poor Government intervention. All Historical sites should be scrutinized by The Historical Society and protected at all costs with the support of Government until money can be issued to save it from the wrecking ball!

By the way Irish a glorious church you have found for us to enjoy!
The only craze is the selfish, heartless, ignorant developers!!!

The government could issue tax deductions or right offs to the new land owners providing they leave such history alone. Our kids, kids, kids will only have photos in books and mags left to see man's greatest creations!

Newfie you sure got some sharp eyes! I was drawn to the church.
