These are some young Pandanas trees at the San Diego Zoo. They have several trees there... however, they tend to grow better along the coast though.

I wasn't sure if this was even growable in California. THIS is one of the potted tropicals I saw an atrium in a San Francisco skyscraper. Temps in the 70's..moderate humidity. Skyscraper air in other words. That twisty trunk was a standout.
