what should you do to keep the yucca small ın order to have the flower look as a bush??

this yucca is a very large plant and we cut some of the old rosettes from it every few years. I clean it up every spring and cut out the dead leaves. It is a haven for snails and spiders. The leaves are very sharp so you have to wear gloves.There are a few different sorts of yucca. I have a varegated cream and green leaf one and an ordinary green leaf one that are a smaller variety than the one in the picture.
