LEMON TREE PLANT Pictures by boopcoltz
LEMON TREE PLANT
MY FRIEND GAVE ME A CUTTING OF WHAT SHE CALLED A LEMON TREE PLANT. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE INDOOR BUT I PLANTED IT OUTDOOR THIS YEAR AND IT HAS GROWN QUICK AND SO BIG I HAVE TAKEN THREE CUTTINGS AND THIS PHOTO IS OF ONE OF THE CUTTINGS. IT SMELLS AS YOU PASS IT OF LEMON AND RUB YOUR FINGERS ON THE LEAF AND oh!!!!! LOVELY LEMON SMELL. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE REAL NAME OF THIS PLANT.

Hi Boopcoltz!
I've always called it citronella... wonderful strong lemony smell..and supposed to repell insects (especially mosquitoes) and animals... can't vouch for it's effectiveness in either case...but a very usefull member of a large plant family...

It's a Pelargonium. There are lots of diferent types. The lemon scented one is called Pelargonium crispum.
