Aude. is that a windy area with the Mistral ?

The Rhone valley is where you would find the Mistral blowing for days! South Eastern France (Provence). The Aude is called the land of the 4 winds and is in the South West, wedged between the Pyrenees and the Montagne Noir which is the tail end of the Massif Central.

Thanks for the information. I love that corner of France. Many years ago we took our holidays on a rented boat on the Sete and Rhone Canel going from St Gilles to Marseillan and other times touring by car we stayed at Carcassonne and Aige-Morte.
