This is our amazing friend, Bill. He helped us in the "green gym" this year, with the out-of-control Leylandii. He also prefers handsaws over technology. It's only now, that the stumps are half this height, that I'm admitting defeat and need a firm to come and chop down the rest noisily. Incidentally, when I was having a fit about not being able to buy anything as simple as a wooden kitchen stool, normal height and not designer priced, made in this country, Bill offered to make us one. Brilliant man. He also volunteers on the Severn Valley (and others) railway. He is old-fashioned and outspoken, talented to do/make many things himself.
