Me too, except the very black ones that run very fast and live in dark corners in the garage...

Well, if he's in my garage, that's fine, he can stay there. Maybe he'll eat a few ants.

It's those that run under the settee, I'm not too keen on..:((

I don't mind spiders at all. They are quite intriguing to look at when up close. They do a good job of catching the flying insects. I love seeing their webs when they catch the air droplets, the patterns are fantastic.

I don't really mind them in the house - I always think if they can find enough to live on they are ridding me of possible pests i didn't know were there...

Great capture and markings.

Thanks everyone, I think the same as you Sterra...The spiders inside the house must be feeding on something.

I'm a spider fan too. The webs of the garden orb spiders can stretch quite a distance... I know this having walked face first into one. I was shuddering and a bit disgusted and then I saw the damage I had done. The poor creature must have worked all night and I took it out just walking down the path.

I've had a web wrapped around my face a few times-yak!

Hi Lori and Paul, Gerry is quite tall and always gets a face-full of spider webs when he goes out into the garden. Yes Lori, the work that goes into actually making the web is fantastic, and the strength that the web has is very strong. Think of all the insects that the spiders trap.

Once I rescued a hummingbird that got tangled in one of those giant orb webs.

Paul, they must be big spiders...….At least the Hummingbird got saved....well done!

lol he was just a babe, smaller than your thumb, but you're right, some of those webs are huge and quiet strong.

When I was a child Paul, I used to take all sorts of creepy crawlies into the house and my mother cringed at the thought. I love the wildlife, and won't ever change.

Yes me too. My favorite was the praying mantis. He was like a pet. The lightening bugs were fun too but a few would always get free in the house and at night my house lit up like Las Vegas. Good Times! I always wondered how such a little bug can make such a big bright light. Never got much sleep that night.

I remember looking after a friends stick Insects Paul and there were loads of babies by the time she collected them back. When we went to Singapore for a week, we saw preying Mantis. I love the thought of a lit up bedroom by the bugs, saves on the electric....a thought for the future perhaps...LOL!

LOL! if you don't mind green pulsating strobe lights.
