Gorgeous colours ! Is it a perennial one ?

5 Oct, 2018

So beautiful. I grew some a few years ago Dawn, they seem to last forever, I must remember them this next year...just like velvet...

It's a Rudbeckia autumn colour Hywel when looking it up as there was no name or information with it I got it from Tesco the other day so I am not sure if it is a perenial I hope it is I know its hardy.

Lol Hywel I ve always tried to tell and teach my children and grand children for decades to learn as many different jobs as they can even their bosses job as no company or work job is loyal to them with so many businesses going bankrupt or leaving the country as my parents taught and did with us my dad a machanic mum decorating sewing knitting and a gardener. My son has done the same tried to make his kids independant not rely on others not all of them listen though.
I ve taught my son to knit clean carpentry or taking furniture thrown out and doing it up for our homes or any thing else thrown out one man rubbish is another man's treasure also taught him to plaster garden decorate his first test was decorating his built in wardrobe lol lay carpets machanics on cars fencing laying slabs hair dressing which he increased his knowledge by employment in different areas my daughters never wanted to know but years on did so now they to can decorate knit car machanics especially my youngest daughter it also stops them being bored and gives them hobbies. I ve also tried to teach my youngest grand daughter to paint which she loves but now is a teenager so I don't see her much any more.
There is a down side to it though Hywel people get jealous as we don't have to pay others to do the work (labour) which takes most of the expense so they think we are rich which is far from it boggles my brain how others think.

Lovely flower and colour. Good it's a perennial. Lovely your family helps you....and it's a wonderful thing that you have done for them in teaching them different skills. Don't worry about what others think, it sounds as though you have a loving wonderful relationship with them all. Lovely to hear.

Thank you Lindak yes I was happy when Hywel said it was a perenial.

Yes it is kind of my family to help me. I must of seen into the future on what was to come with jobs back in the 1980s some times people do things and not know why.
Lol more like a love hate relationship as when kids have their own family they don't like advice from mums.

Sorry I'm late looking at your reply Thruppenybit, It's good that you taught your children and grandchildren things. The more we can do for ourselves the better.
My mother got me ironing when I was small, I don't think she liked doing it lol … and I actually enjoy it. I find it very relaxing. I iron my own clothes and also Beryl's.

Never mind what people say, they'll say something whatever you do. I've learnt to ignore most things people say, it's usually rubbish !

No problem Hywel I know you lead a busy life.

Like you my son does all the ironing there is also a top league footballer a while back stated he loves ironing he won't let his Mrs do it he finds it very therapeutic he said. Your right to take no notice of what others think.

I to use to love ironing I use to do all mine also the manager of Rolls Royce and his kids and wife's ironing this is one of his sons I use to live next door to his nan and lived just down the road to them. Liam Doyle his dad is Thomas Doyle I still live not far from them.
