Leucothoe fontanesiana ‘Makijaz’

Leucothoe fontanesiana ‘Makijaz’

This Leucothoe was under the hedge in Meditation corner, but I needed something to fill a gap in the raised border, so i moved it yesterday. Think it will be a lot better there. I removed a Geranium Rozanne, a Perovskia and a Sidalcea, so there is a bit of space still to fill up. This is all part of my plan to slowly change the plants in the raised beds to a more structured, less herbaceous planting scheme. Its funny, you can try new stuff and then realise...nah..this is just not ‘me’. :)

Hi Karen, you are so right, I regularly move plants about, some I get rid of altogether as I get fed up of them, when I grew annuals every year, I could have a different display every year, and never got bored, but I must admit, I find perennials a lot less work, Derek.

The border looks so much better already Derek, just for having removed three plants which were all far too tall, and one that was far too sprawly. I don’t have any Geranium Rozanne now, and I won’t be getting any. They need a lot of space. Good for very large gardens, but not for mine.

Oh I couldn't get rid of my Rozanne, I love how she sprawls around my border, and has flowered all summer long.... it is not the size of the garden its where she sprawls, not an easy plant to place really!

Yes, I'm sure you are right Angela. I may regret it, but for now...no.
