They look very good, though.

I just took out my grape tomato from summer of 2017. Tomato plants will grow for a few years here in San Diego.

yes, I imagine they would, Andy. The vines would grow for miles! Every axil produces a spathe of blossom. I started growing cherry toms back in 1985. I fell in love with the compact size of the fruit but the absolute abundance of them just blew me away. So tasty and pretty too. I started with the var. Sweet One Hundred and soon they had bred an even more prolific one and named it Sweet Million... the panicles were about 18 inches long and carried two fruit for every inch! ...give or take. No exaggeration.
I decided that I was not having tomatoes earlier and had planted my garden without them, but neqr the end of planting time a friend took me to a local garden centre that I didn[t know existed... I came home with a beefsteak plant and the low acid orange plant... 👀👀 The beefsteak toms are developing nicely and by the time they're ripe for picking I imagine they'll weigh about a lb. each.
