I love the backdrop in this photo Amy. Is it across your drive/path? Its a view of your garden I don't recognise, but its lovely!

I've noticed that the white pines are covered with cones..and the spruce too... the mountain ash have oodles of berries and the Dogwoods ...etc. etc. all the fall bearing trees and plants are heavy with progeny... was it the mild winter we had?

Hi, Amy, I thought the same as Bloomer on seeing the photo! ? But looking at it a 2nd time it's nothing like a Raspberry at all - other than in the colour & the way the fruit is built up! The leaves are also totally different from Raspberry leaves as is the manner in which the fruit is borne!

It's quite a curious plant!

Thank you all for your comments , yes its all ours Karen its our drive in, the trees border the other side of the drive ,we planted that Acer crimson king and in fact all the trees shrubs when we first moved here ... it's been a joy to watch it mature ...

My little trees are starting to mature now Amy, and it really is lovely to see them growing. So I understand what you mean.

Such an unusual plant. I seem to remember you posting some pics last year. Your garden seems to be home to quite a few unusual plants.

I love the Autumn colours Chris but not what is coming after it Brrr .... It's a good feeling isn't it Karen when you start a plan and then see the results , Yes this is one of my favourites at this time of the year Waddy it has two eye catching impacts first the Bracts early in the year which are amazing and then these lovely berries in the autumn ..
