Hi Sheila, aren't you the lucky one, all I ever get are the plain brown variety, {but then I don't have a pond either}, Derek.

A big Beauty. We get these and Damselflies, in fact so many different ones, OH bought me a book, The Dragonflies of Hampshire.

This is the Emperor dragonfly. It's the largest British species I think. You are lucky to have a pond & get them in your garden. I have seen some around in the countryside recently.

Lovely dragonfly. We used to get the yellow and black hawkers down the road in the pond we had there, but they do like some sort of reed or grass growing from the pond area to settle on.
