Who has to clean it out? Dd.

Sue we both do, there is a small concealed tray, which pulls out, and we empty it roughly every ten days, couldn't be easier........

Every ten days Gosh thats brilliant ours is big and needs cleaning out every day we use a barrow load of wood at a time we have a huge wood basket on wheels which we trundle to the back door to fill up every day ...

Oh goodness Amy, I couldn't be doing with all that hard work! and the cost of running it, a barrow load of wood a day, !! you must have a much larger room than us, the size of our burner was determined by the size of our sitting room and kitchen, which are quite small obviously compared to yours!

It isn't hard work Angela Tony cleans it out before I'm up in the morning Lol he's an early bird ... we are lucky with having a good supply of wood from farmer friends who have woods they welcome a thinning out of older trees we have large stacks of wood which we dry for a couple of years before using , we do have a very big sitting room plus doors leading into the dining room we leave the doors open to let the heat go through to the other rooms hall etc... sometimes its too warm People strip off Ha ha ...

I can't wait to get our fire...I've started stock pilling wood ready for the Autumn already..

Amy Peter lights ours first thing, so by the time I get down the room is lovely and warm, you are lucky to have a constant supply of free wood, we have to buy ours in!
Sandra I started collecting wood for ours for about a year, and it went in about a month lol!! but we don't regret having it installed..

My old man keeps laughing at my little pile of wood...but I tell him every little helps!

We are very lucky Angela also we have a friend who goes fishing at some lakes where they often cut down and thin out the trees round the lakes he lets us know when they are doing this as they sell the wood at £15 a trailer load , a real bargain ,Tony gets his trailer out and makes the most of it stacking it up for a later date ...

Sandra so did my OH, every time we pruned the trees, I would keep it for kindling, also when the neighbours had the tree surgeons in I got them to leave me the wood, every little helps indeed, our Arbutus wood was brilliant so hard and burned for ages!
Amy 15.00 that's amazing! costs us £90.00!! just ordered another load, which hopefully will last until March, fingers crossed!

Thanks Angela for putting this on! It is lovely and very neat and modern looking woodburner...! ;o) I've shown OH and he's impressed too! Thanks for sharing - We've had an awful weekend... The weather here in rural Kent has been just so cold and foggy here all day...! If I'd had a woodburner I could have spent the afternoon curled up around it!

Petal That's true, they are so comforting, we didn't want a traditional log burner, being fans of the Danish way of living, this was just the ticket the make is Morso (their website is very helpful), if we had a larger room we would have gone for a modern free standing one, on a glass plinth, drawback to that , difficult to keep it clean, the ash would spill over on to the floor boards!
Like you we have had some very cold weather, and now we looking forward to three days of fog!! today was beautiful and sunny but now the temperature had dropped and it is minus 5!! if you need any more information, just ask!

Lovely wood burner DD and sounds economical as well. When we lived on the I.O.Wight, a long time ago.... we used to collect the driftwood from the beach, bring home to weather outside over the summer, then Gerry used to cut it up into logs.

Lindak that sounds like a good plan, might take to doing a spot of beach combing, every little helps!
