Dianthus carthusianorum - 2016 (Dianthus carthusianorum)

Small magenta flowers on stems typically 12 to 18 inches tall. Needs a sunny position in poor, well-drained soil. Effective in gravel gardens or prairie planting, but would probably get lost in a conventional border.
