Closer Look

This garden is in transition from a rose garden to a cottage garden, hopefully. I still have a lot of "holes" to fill, but it's slowly getting there. The walnut tree at the right of the photo has proven to be a challenge when it comes to plant choices.

Thanks Marguerite & Jacque. Unfortunately, many of the roses have died due to the harsh winters we've had. There isn't a lot of protection from the elements in this garden, and the roses in other parts of the yard have fared much better. The garden is also too far away from a water source. I'll still have my roses, just not it this particular garden. Some of the roses do thrive, and they will stay, but tea roses do not do well here.

It looks great! Roses can be a pain in some areas of the US and I pretty much avoid them entirely. They just take too much "babying" in my climate. Keep us informed and let us see how it comes along.
