'Tom Thumb' Pittosporum for Shirley..:o)

Slow growing shrub, very hardy..this is approx 10 years old,Shirley..hope it is suitable for you..the green on top is new foliage, which makes it very attractive in late spring, before it changes colour..mainly looks after itself.xx

Thanks Sandra ... very efficient service! Now I have to tell you that I have one of these in the front gravel garden (planted in 2010) and shall probably be moving it to fill the gap left by the stinky Santolina.

By the way, your Sedums look great too :o)

Sorry Shirley,I should have read your comment properly, that you already have one....so you will already know how easy care they are..It's one of my favourite shrubs..shame I got the manhole covers in the photo ! I usually have pots on those in summer, but you can still see them :o(

Your sedum looks to be a very nice manageable size to me.
Ours, like everything else in our garden seems to get too big!

Thanks Chris..it's quite poor soil there, and lots of concrete supporting the steps,so maybe those conditions contribute to them staying a manageable size...One in the back garden gets much bigger :o)

Pretty shrub Bloomer love your white sedums too :o)

Thanks Neellan..the Sedums will be deep pink soon, they are still in their early stages..It would be nice if they were white ones :o)

Looks lovely Bloomer I really like the pittosporum and if its really hardy even better ,I did have a couple with variegated leaves they got huge but stayed a lovely shape and great for cutting and putting in with flowers lost them both in one of the cold winters :-(, yours would be just as nice :-)

Thank you Simbad. It's such an easy shrub to have.I only trim off wayward bits,to keep the shape, and those are far and few between..I managed to take a cutting, which although it survived,is so slow to get going..must be the nature of the plant, but i wish it would put a spurt on :o)

It will be fine,Amy..and I find they keep their shape well..go for it :o)

Ours is in too much shade, so it does not colour up until much later, I do prune ours if I didn't it would be enormous lol

This gets sun from early afternoon, till the sun goes down,so it colours up very quickly..maybe it's a good job mine has restricted room to grow then..It isn't often I have to trim it..
