I thought the name might attract a comment from you,Julia..:o) thank you,I'm really pleased I bought them..I think I may be starting a collection,as I bought three more from Aldi,a couple of weeks ago, only a different colour. x

I particularly like the deep pink ones like this. :)

I love dianthus and the pink ones are my favourite. Much nicer name than the one called 'Devon Dumpling!' Isn't their scent lovely too?

Reminds me of Bubble Gum Sandra. They look great in an arrangement with a nice fragrance too - not the bubble gum, the Dianthus.

So do I,Karen..it's described as a Raspberry pink colour, and grown in Britain for British gardens, which is good..:o)

I have never had them before Chris..but I will have some more ..I wonder who chooses some of their names? Not heard of 'Devon dumpling '..I'll have to check that one out :o)

Lol,Paul, I remember the Bubble Gum colour.:o)..I always find Dianthus or Carnations last quite well indoors..good value ...I can pick my own now..:o)

They're one of my favorites but I can't find the big ones you'd find in a florist shop. I just love the smell.

Lovely one with a great name Bloomer! they will be a lovely scented addition to your borders :o)

Lovely....I have a few different Dianthus and they have flowered really well this year.

Thanks Neellan..I am falling in love with Dianthus, and the perfume is subtle but nice..maybe if I had a few more,it would be stronger :o)

Thank you Lindak..I didn't expect them to be so good, but they were quite a decent size when I bought them..I must say,I didn't let them stay on the sale table at the GC for long :o)

Whatever,Sheila ! Lol..Isn't it a lovely colour? It's looking even better after our spell of nice weather..I love it

17 Jul, 2015

They always amaze me with the shear number of flowers they produce.

17 Jul, 2015

I agree,Sheila..It's the first time I've had them, but watch this space next year..there will be more :o)

Thats good news Sandra the foliage is the best thing about it when it grows bigger x

26 Jul, 2015

It has plenty of room to grow where it's planted Amy,so I hope it survives the winter..Should I pot it up,or give it a good mulch please? I don't want to lose this one..

26 Jul, 2015

I bought this one a while back, unfortunately the Dianthus all go very leggy here and start to look awful, thinking of removing the taller varieties and just growing the ground huggers!! shame because I love them.

27 Jul, 2015

Oh dear,do they? Someone on TV only last week, said to cut the whole stem off to the bottom, when it has finished flowering, and it will throw up more flowering stems? I shall have to see how it performs in the meantime,as it's only it's first year in my garden..I do hope mine doesn't go leggy..

27 Jul, 2015

I do that, and they still go leggy, it may be where we are growing them, I don't know I will put some photos on a blog and ask the question, OH is not keen to take cuttings, which are easy so I understand, he hasn't got the time to mess about with too many cuttings...

27 Jul, 2015

All I have read,is that they like full sun, added grit.and not in enriched soil..would that seem right to you Angela? That would be helpful to me too,if you asked a question....
