It's growing on the orchid farm in Darwin! Now I know the name I will fill it in. Thanks.

Is it warm all the time where you live? I'm a bit confused about the climate in different parts of Australia (or ignorant shall we say!)
Are the orchids growing outside all year round?
My husband is looking in his atlas.......comparing your position with parts of Chile where he came from.

Chili is a long skinny country going from North to South and going through many climates. Australia is just as long but a lot wider. We have many climates too, although our most southern places on Tasmania do still have mild winters compared to winters of North America. Some of our southern states have snow in the mountains in the winter, really amazing to see the Eucalypt trees in the snow. There are huge ski fields too. But in the North where the orchids grow outside in the dry and wet tropics, they always stay outside. The coldest we've had it here in winter, and I live in the hills, is 13C, but most nights are around 18 in winter, 22 in summer. Summer max is round 34-36C. In Darwin, which is our most northern place, it gets to 19 at night in winter, 25 in summer. Day temps are always 28-36 summer and winter. Well, you can tell your husband that now, lol.

Thankyou very much for the info. A lot warmer than here!

I love the colour of this phalaenopsis. Where is it growing?
