This morning I stepped out to find a bedding plant on my doorstep. Torn out by its root. Bits of plant scattered over my drive....oh...its soooooo frustrating. Winds should drop tomorrow.....sigh.

Oh, poor Karen! The wind hasn't been that bad here, but it's still very breezy. I don't ever remember quite such a windy start to June. And the temperatures are still quite low, even though it's sunny. Our heating is still on downstairs.

Commiserations, Karen. I am not at all surprised you are fed up with the wind. It has been bad for you. I remember one Carnoustie holiday, when we used to go for the last week of July, where all the trees were covered with dried, brown leaves caused by vicious winds. The owner said it had been unexpected and quite unusual. This must have been over 25 years ago. Let's hope it doesn't happen more frequently than that.

Yes, thank you. I really hope so. I really do not want to live in a constantly wind blasted place. It has always been my least favourite weather. But unfortunately there have been very unseasonal winds here in late spring and early summer for at least three years now. I remember visiting Chelsea and taking off from Aberdeen in a Gale with my friend. When we landed in London it was fine. Here there were trees felled. It was dire. That was 2012. But this year it has gone on and on since mid April with very few days respite and never more than one calm day at a time. We managed one and a half this week. Its very destructive to my poor young garden. Im glad I didn't meet and marry a Shetlander!! Lol!

I think you have been experiencing unusual conditions - I am sure you will not have the same weather every year. This has been a very unusual Spring for us - we generally have very mild weather, different from areas just to the north and south of us, but this year as been disappointing, to say the least!
