Was just thinking this morning....really I am a 'Roses and Honeysuckle' type of gardener. Need more Honeysuckle!! :))

Here, just had a thought...wouldn't it be great if someone could breed a 'dwarf' honeysuckle, for scrambling through borders and imbueing them with perfume....bliss!

Lovely colour, I think the perfume will be divine.

Carole the scent is heavenly especially in the evening I love walking through in the dark the scent is especially heavy then .. This is a very old cottage garden honeysuckle karen given to me by a friend who would you believe lives in 'Rose Cottage' he didn't know its name I like your idea of a low growing rambling Honeysuckle , Sue I wish I could send you a scent -o-gramme you would love it , Dawn we pruned it right down the year before last which resulting in it not blooming to well last year its definitely making up for it this year ....

We had to have some kind of plan/ idea Sue as when we moved here it was all grass not a plant anywhere .. :o)

I had one laurel, a coal bunker and a washing line down the length of the garden. That was 40 years ago!!!

1/2 of a lifetime?

Hi Amy, thanks for the pruning advice. Mine are a little rampant, I think they need a prune. I made a mistake by planting them up the obelisks, swamping them. Looks like they have green fly or something. I feel a prune coming one. Do you remember what time of year you did yours?

Yours sounds the same Snoopdog that scent is amazing my last job of the evening when its dark quite late is to go outside to smell it at it best .. Dawn I seem to remember it was well after it flowered you know when the stems hang long and are not clinging or climbing it must have been almost autumn ,good luck ,bad luck about the greenfly we have black aphids thick at the tops of the Foxgloves :o)

Thanks Amy, I will get at them then. I had black fly on foxgloves too and on the Viburnum Opulus, I dont like to spray but sometimes you have to.
