It certainly is....

Is it unusual for the leaves to appear so soon after the flower. I thought colchicums flowered then got leaves. It is beautiful. I hope the weather does not affect it.

Sheila
I have five different spring flowering Colchicum they all produce leaves before flowers ,to be honest I think they look better that way.
Not sure of the reason but the majority of autumn crocus are the same aren't they.

My autumn flowering crocus suddenly throw up a mass of flowers. After they died down the first year I had them, I thought I had lost them. In the following Spring a lot of very big long leaves appeared. I had forgotten that was where the crocus was and might have dug them out. I left the leaves and they eventually disappeared too. I was rewarded with more crocus the following autumn. The space they are in is empty twice a year but covered over by neighbouring shrubs. I have to agree these do look good with leaves.

Scotsgran, I am so glad to hear someone else forgetting where??? or if, or maybe I dug it up. I am one of those who do not like garden stakes everywhere. Most of my plants are known by most gardeners. the only problem with this method is when asked, I cannot always remember!

See what I mean. It a joy to look at your photo, and I love the leaves too. Always wanted to try these. this year for sure.

Wells it is lovely close up in my alpine type troughs under cover, you can get an idea of size from Cyclamen Coum alongside.
It would be lost in the open ground this time of year.
