For my Sadie, this is as good as it gets and if I could find a way to make it better, I would.

Before his morning coffee and biscuit I presume?

Sadie prefers a Cinnamon scone and a cup of Lipton Tea for breakfast. I'm the coffee drinker and biscuit(with a lump of apple butter on top) muncher.

What breed is she ? She's not unlike our Danny, a tricolour Cavalier. She's so beautiful.

Sadie, the shady lady, is a Pomeranian.

Yes Pamelaanne, actually I am the lucky one. I was in my vets waiting room with one of my other pups when she was brought in to be euthanized. The reason for this was that she was a very small dog and was handled very roughly by the owners children and sustained a back injury which resulted in total paralysis in her hind quarters. I spoke with the owner who was in tears and asked her to let me have the dog with the promise that I would try to have her injury corrected and if not I would still give her a life working around her present infirmities. The diagnosis was ruptured discs pressing into her lower spinal cord pinching it almost in half and not much time left until it separated altogether. I took her to the recommended veterinary hospital which had a surgeon which specialized in such injuries. She had her surgery and her prognosis as uncertain. Her recovery was slow but what a brave and determined girl she was and still is. At first she was still dragging but at the recommended post surgical time I started to induce her to walk by inticing her with a treat. After two weeks of this she started to come to her new daddy by moving her hind legs. Now, she runs on all fours so fast that I can't catch her. Luckily the injury and postsurgical complication of incontinence didn't happen. She has such a great smile and personality and is one of the lights of my life. Also, I have the upmost respect for these wonderful and dedicated veterinarians.

Oh! I am delighted to hear her story. What a marvellous recovery, and what great dedication you have showed to her. I am so glad you were there to save her :)

Thank You. I just took a photo of her on all fours and have posted it in my photo section.

Wow, what a story!
Lucky Sadie indeed. How fortunate that you were there at the time & that you were able to afford the veterinary treatments, that would have cost hundreds of £££'s over here not to mention your dedication.

Yes, it is. Loose is one in 10 million for his dedication, kindness & financial commitment to that little dog.
