I lost my original ones in that bad Winter a few years ago but this year are brilliant, still not as good as Amy's.

Earlier too, arent they. I think the mild spring and all that rain helped all plants this year :)

They look fantastic Amy! Earlier than mine.

I hope that there aren't too many plants in that group - I only have two plants and the largest one is two metres across!

Remember not to overwater it during the growing season - in the wild it grows in an area that has quite dry summers. My top tips for survival;
a] Do not cut the stems off at the end of the season - they're hollow and if cut water can run down them into the heart of the plant rotting it out in the cold of winter (although hopefully we'll only ever have mild winters from now on!!).
and
b] I mulch mine using an airy medium such as conifer needles. Ordinary leaf mulch allows no air to circulate and can again cause winter rot.

Thanks for all those tips Meanie , the only tip it's to late for is the one about not growing too many together I have at least 20 in this patch maybe that's why they haven't grown so wide across as yours these have grown tall and slim ,can you transplant them in the autumn ?

Not sure. Maybe wait until the spring? They will sulk badly after moving, so maybe better then?
