Thank you we are lucky it an amazing sight , this year as you reach the furthest end of the wood there's a field of bright yellow Oil seed Rape the sight of the Bluebells merging with the bright yellow is almost to much ....

What a fantastic sight, Amy, glorious. Ours are just going over now - the rain over the weekend seems to have flattened them too soon :(

Oh that's a shame Gill we caught these at their best, I believe they are early because when we go to see them other years the Lily of the Valley and the wild Garlic are in flowers but they haven't bloomed yet this year ....

22 Apr, 2014

The wild garlic was just opening when I went to that part of the wood at the end of last week. No lily of the valley in the woods but I have a few white bells just opening in the garden :) Heavy rain throughout the night and early this morning so I have had a day off from gardening -if it's fine and I don't get on with it I feel guilty!

It's strange Gill we only spotted a couple of white bluebells in among all these blues , I have a couple of pinks in my garden with the blues ... it good sometimes to have day to catch up indoors I've spent a lot of time in the greenhouse potting plants I need to have a proper catch up in the house ....

Thanks Linda ! I hope the seeds grow well for both you and your cousin OH has been planting my Larkspur out this week in the hope that we don't have any more frosts ....

They are really strong little plants, but I will wait a bit longer before putting them out. It is still a bit cold here in Scotland. :0)

I need to dig under my shrubs to put my bluebless out; that will take time, but they should go in some time this century!

There is a website that lists "bluebell walks near you" - you put in your postcode and it shows you a few of the nearer ones. I did do a blog for the link, but that was ages ago, sure Google or other will be able to find the page.

There's something magical about a carpet of blubless in a woodland, dnn'[t know what but always works on me

Good news, Amy. Have been checking on the bluebells and although it's been a COLD spring they have blossoms coming! I'm really excited! When they bloom I will post some pics.

Hoo-ray Lori i'm very pleased for you , my Arisaema triphyllum you sent me all have leaves but no blooms as yet ,when you sent me the seed I gave Dawn a couple and hers has a flower, it's not fair I WANT ONE ! ( I'm not sure if you call it a flower ) but you know what I mean ...

hmm...I wonder about that. I've seen a number of small "Jacks" in the forest with no leaves (or vestigial ones) only a pulpit. will try to get a pic to show you. I have a pic on my latest blog of the largest "Jack"...it's going to be huge but it's snuggled right into a clump of daylilies. It's been so cold that the bluebells are slow to perform...keeping a daily watch.
