Adult and young of the Belper Peregrines My latest watercolour.

Not much in the way of garden photos to put on at the moment and it still keeps on raining, in fact we've had some snow showers today.

What a lovely painting , yes it tried to snow here to day too, not surprised as we normally get snow in Feb and we are nearly into Feb.

Thankyou Thrupenny, Marybells and Bathgate for you comments. I just enjoy my painting and ask for a donation for the picture, and give it to a charity. I've never been taught, and always do my own thing.

Thanks Thrupenny, I just express my own way of painting what I see.

Beautiful.

It must be so rewarding and satisfying to produce something so lovely.

Hello Wildrose, It is always a challenge but it does make me look at the animal or bird I am painting. I had to count the large wing feathers that are spread out. I am pleased with the result here though. Thanks for your comment.

Very very nice Linda. I can't get the feathers right when I've tried to paint birds.

Thanks Waddy they are special birds. Hi Homebird, I try to draw some of the feathers where they are and how long and how many (of the different sorts before painting. I then try to paint the different sorts of feathers ending up with the darkest ones last. I leave gaps where they are white and put white paint on, being as its watercolours. I am self taught so it's probably wrong to do it that way, but it works for me. It takes time and I do it in stages.

Lovely painting Lindak. I should imagine birds are not easy. A good way to pass the time in winter doing detailed water colours. Come to think of it,water colour isn't easy either.

Thanks Dorjac. I have a go at painting anything and I am always learning by it. Where the shadows are, where the light is hitting the subject, I just paint watercolours how I want to with plenty of colour.
