......and what a job that was. :-( but looking a lot less green. After the fountain died on me ealier in the year the build up of sluge really was rather gross, gladly nothing is living in it anymore. I am thinking I will add a dwarf water lilly and some water snails in the spring, hopefully this will work better than the fountain did.

lol, i'll have to watch out for that... mind you i was planning on planting this lily on its own, so I do want it to make it's presence felt. Where did you buy yours from DD? I have been looking at some online supliers that look quite good, have'nt made any decisions as yet, thought best to wait until spring.

It was bought online at a local Hampshire nursery.... Next time I will buy one where I can see it is a dwarf variety.

We have done the same, but our barrel is in the ground, has just cleared after 5 months!! we bought a dwarf lily only to find it was not dwarf lol took over the whole barrel...
