You caught that perfectly - unlike me I am never in the right place a the right time and always without the camera!!

Stunning Karen just perfect:)

Oh, thank you both so much! :)

A lovely one Karen.

Thanks Slad. I like the 'tatty' look of the petals on this one.

Yes - doing what a flower should do (and a bee, come to that!)

Great pic Karen, does it have any scent? How high does it grow? Last question, how have you kept your leaves so healthy? I've been plagued this summer with sawfly larvae, they eat whole leaves in no time and leave spots and holes on others, vile things. They even ate my geums:-(

Yuck BA! Leaves on my plants have been chewed by earwigs, and they are afflicted with blackspot again too....not everything is 'rosy' in my garden either!

Oops...other qu.s.....only about 2' high. I'll need to check the scent for you.

Could you say how far it spreads? I've found that info on ground cover roses online are not accurate and one of my groundcovers spreads a good 5-6 feet. I'm very keen on ground cover roses at the moment as they're so reliable (sawfly apart) and it's good to know this one attracts bees too :-)

BA, no discernible scent I'm afraid. I can't really tell yet, how far this one is going to spread. I know just what you mean though...my best 'ground cover' rose is about 4' tall! But everything in my garden grows taller than it should....because I over plant and they all head towards better light! :)

Yes that sounds like my coral flower carpet, but what a reliable beauty:-)

Yes, it's called 'scented carpet' and it does have a lovely scent. and as it's growing through a wedding cake tree, the height is actually better. one of my favourite plants in my garden. :))

Oooh I'll google that:-)

Thanks Katarina!

Excellent photo, Karen!

Lovely colour to the flower. The bumble bees are working well and we've had a lot of them this summer.

Not so sure about 'groundcover' Karen. I have Essex, Hertford and another and they are now huge. They were humble ground hugging roses to start with. Now, in spite of being cut back a lot several times, they are still in there wanting to be the big hunky roses. I know you can take them up, but it would be hard work for me to do this.

Yup, know just what you mean!
