ive looked at the next photo Hywel, they are very nice flowers. Do your cactus have flowers every year? my mom (who doesnt know anything about cactus) said they only flower something like every 5 or 10 years i think shes just saying that because hers never flower!!! lol. You will have to tell me your secret and i'll pass it onto mom.

Some types of cacti have to reach a certain size before they will flower. Other types flower every year, if they are given the right conditions.
I don't think there are any that flower every 5 or 10 years.

How cold hardy is this?

It is said to be hardy to -10 C but has to be kept very dry. Any freezing damp would kill it. I keep it in the conservatory.
