Cassia fistula ( golden shower )

Cassia fistula ( golden shower ) (Cassia fistula)

I placed a picture here of a whole bunch hanging down, now this is a close up of one flower, from the same tree. Note its beautiful shape. The tree has long round bean like seedpods, you can break it open across and see all seeds nicely lined up in a row, just like biscuits in a packet. The smell is spicy - sweet. This tree is endemic to some areas, but in others it is considered a pest. They grow in Northern Australia.
