Geum 'Mai Tai'

Geum 'Mai Tai' (Geum)

I moved this last year and as you can see, it didn't mind at all. A very accommodating plant. I bought it as a tiny corm, and it's taken three years to get to a decent 12" across, and the first year it looked a little pathetic and pale coloured, but it is lovely now it's mature. Geum's generally don't mind having wet roots, so they are useful in semi-boggy areas I find.

THanks everyone. My yellow foliage one started flowering today...bright orange flower on yellow leaves..must get a pic tomorrow!

Loved the pic. I have tried and tried with this plant, and decided it does not like me. Maybe more patience, which I find get easier and harder as one gets older. Never enough time...
Yours looks so happy and as if it just popped in for awhile. I am striving for that look, but to get it, one must organize first. My garden in Farmington had a bit of a redo last year, and looks far too orderly for my taste. Too many new plants. The losers have to go. My question: I am looking for person on this site who raises Amaryllis?

Ooh, now you've got me there Wells...I don't grow them, except very occasionally at Christmas. Somebody will....have a look under Goypedia and see who has lots of photos...or ask on the questions page. :) thanks for your lovely comment!

Do you know what, I have never owned a Geum but this is lovely. I think It may be because I never shop online and rarely see them in local Gcs :o)
