I had a lovely pink one once, but brought it indoors every winter until it was too big to bring in. I then tried fleecing it in the greenhouse (no heat) but lost it. Such a shame it was beautiful.

Ciders they do get very big, luckily ours are still at a manageable size, but they would not survive being kept outside in a GH.
Cinders it is indoors, we lost one so far, but the others are all fine.
Amy I am sure you would do well, you do seem to have green fingers, these were a gift to OH from our daughter, they were really tiny, the most exotic one died which was a shame.......

I see. So this is something like Cornus florida or Davidia involucrata (I thought it was it when I saw this photo first time).

We have several all different colours..

It's beautiful! I really like the white varieties; however, they can cover a huge area. I've seen white Bougaivillea cover half a house here.

Here's a photo of B. 'Jamaican White' covering half a house here in San Diego.

LOL! Yes, Bougainvillea here can become very wild. Along the freeways here, they become huge, tall mounds of color.

Would never happen here...too flipping cold.

Bougainvillea definitely won't grow where it freezes for a long time.
