Paper wasp nest.
The sting of the paper wasp is extremely painful, yet it leaves no residue pain or swelling. These nests hang from branches of bushes and even on eves of the house or on rafters and dangle from one single, but strong thread, about 3 mm thick. They are beneficial to the garden and are best left alone.
