Cycas calcicola

Cycas calcicola (Cycas calcicola)

From our Darwin garden, these cycads occur naturally and are endemic to that region. They are fantastic plants, not palms, and belong to one of the eldest plants in the world. The blue seeds stand out. In winter, the dry season all fronds die off, but in spring new shoots come out from the trunk. They really are amazing.
