Buddleia 'Sungold'

Buddleia 'Sungold'

A closer look at the flower in the previous photo. Small round balls of golden flowers make this a very special plant.

I noticed Ksusan told someone she had dispensed with her plant because it got too big. I thought I had lost it but it is doing alright. It has another stem which is yet to open. She offered it to me after I mentioned I had lost my B. weyeriana after someone died at the wheel of his vehicle and ploughed in to the front garden wall. When I prune it next spring I'll try and root a cutting for you if you wish. The scent of honey is lovely too.

I have this after seeing a pic of it in Karensusan's garden - have to say it's grown a lot faster and taller than I anticipated - I shall have to keep it in shape next year!

I think the yellow and the purple variety could look nice together. No?

I have one named Buddleia alterifolia ( I have posted a photo of it) Klahnie but it flowers much earlier. It is a beauty. The flowers grow along cascading stems. Gives the impressio of a waterfall. Most other buddleia are over before this one flowers. I will look for a photo of it. I have googled it and it has to be propagated from semi ripe cuttings so I will try next year. Shirley, the great thing I found with buddleia is that you can prune them quite severely and they still flower. I have placed this one behind a very large azalea/ rhododendron so that i get flowers at different times. I love it Angie. It is different from my original late flowering yellow one which was a cross between B. Globosa and W. Linda it flowers for four months once it is established July - October. You could not complain about that could you.

Hi Scotsgran,
I've a long time admired Sungold.....from a distance I'm afraid, I haven't got the room for another Buddlejah.....

Thank you Crissue. My garden seems to need occasional upgrading when I lose a plant to old age or the weather. I was sad to lose my original yellow one but this promises to be even better.
