Allotment Perennial Sunflowers in full bloom at end of plot 21-08-2012

These Perennial Sunflowers are at the bottom of Gerry's plot.

I took this photo at the end of August 2012. Even now, a few weeks later, they look much the same.

Looks very much like mine, mine are out of control, but when they smile at me like they do wherever I walk in the garden, it is hard not to love them, I shall keep thinning them down when they get too much in certain places, they are so greedy for space, saw the same one on Gardener's World the other day, Like Carol Klein said, 'if you have got room, they are worth it' :)))

I quite agree with Carol! When seen "en masse" they certainly are worth the while. I've put some at the top of my allotment to hide the corrugated iron sheet that make up my compost heap. A fine job they're doing, too!
