So finally it was done earlier, Brian. Better for him, although poor spirit must come to this world much earlier. Seems it made him angry, too :))) He is lovely and tired. Congratulation and see him soon in a cradle :))

Congratulation Pauline and Brian x

Incubator makes his environment comfortable, Brian, it is because premature babies are not able to regulate their own temperature. So for him it is fine :)

Congratulations to you both!

Congratulations to you and all, my first baby boy was in special care incubation he is now forty and a giant lol hope that puts your mind at rest, not sure if they still do this but special care babies were in thosse days fed on cow and gate not the national died milk like given on the wards. You will need a bigger bank ballance now and I m sure Jamie will love him a new play mate .

My first thought when I looked at the picture was that he looked like you Brian! Congratulations to you and Pauline but also to baby's parents and I hope both Rhys and his Mum get well and strong very soon. It seems you didn't have as long as you thought to get that cot finished so less time for the garden now perhaps? x

Thank you everybody for your comments.
Lily paid them a visit this afternoon and all seems well,Mothers condition is improving, and was taken to see Rhys in his incubator I was even allowed to touch him and see the reaction on the monitors, all very clever and of course took a few more pictures of him, quite difficult to do as his little heat pad he ls led on is brightly illuminated and makes everything else come out dark.I will share them if any one wants to see them.
I hesitate as it is supposed to to a gardening site.Lol

what a treasure, enjoy him, he will grow up to be a fine young man I am sure. Hope everyone is coping ok and that your granddaughter is on the mend - they take good care of mums and babies these days and will make sure they are both fit and well before they come home. Lovely picture and I look forward to seeing more, congratulations.

Time flies when we are happy. A first great grandchild is very special. Best wishes for a speedy release from the incubator and a speedy recovery for his mum. Our oldest grandchild was delighted when she was told she had a baby brother but was reluctant to talk about him when she came home from her visits. He too was in an incubator. Imagine the joy a few weeks later when I went to pick her up at the hospital because a short visit was deemed to be enough for a two year old. She flew in to my arms saying she had a baby brother and I had to come and see him. He had been brought in to the ward and was lying in a cot beside his mum, wrapped in a blanket. Appearances can be deceptive and this was how she pictured a baby. He is now a strapping young lad. Your great grandson looks lovely and thanks to all that post natal care will be home soon. Congratulations to you and Pauline.

San the first two weeks of his life have been tough, his mother was able to pick him up for the first time two days ago.and he is now just over 4lbs.

This is a gardening website Brian and what is a more precious crop to grow than the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren that we are all rightly happy to welcome to this site. There is a screening option open to anyone who does not wish to see anything but gardening in the vegetative sense. I'm sure your friends will all be happy to see any photos you want to post. Its great news that he is over 4lbs already. It must be a great relief to his parents and all of the family.
