I had two cutting of this in white. One indoors and one in the garden. Gave one to my godson and the one I had in the garden didn't make it. I will try again this year, my next door neighbough has this vine.

Meanie:

I was going to suggest stealing a cutting for someones's garden. lol! But, I'm guessing it's not hardy enough to grow outside, there?

I drive by a gigantic white (Pandorea jasminoides 'alba') every day. It's an extremely common vine (many varieties) here.

Not really hardy enough for here, although the parent has taken some rather cold weather.

Lovely so pretty Meanie...

It's a really nice climber for the conservatory DD.

This vine will tolerate snow? I always though it was only hardy to around 28ºF/-2ºC.

I know of someone in Kent growing Strelitzia reginea and Iochroma australis outdoors in Kent where they have come though -12ºc.

I can believe the Iochroma and Pandorea tolerating -12ºC and freezing to the ground and coming back. I'm very incredulous about Strelitzia reginae coming back from such a cold temp. I've seen S. reginae get very badly damaged at 26ºF/-3.3ºC. in canyon areas of the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Iochroma is no tiddler - here's a photo.................

Meanie:

Those are very nice pics!

I hate to say this: However, I don't think it got down to -12ºC. (even for a short period of time), because these plants are not hardy enough to survive this kind of temp. If these plants were that hardy they would be growing in many areas of the U. S. where it gets this cold (and they don't).
