Easy to forget what a pretty flower it is.

I love this, bought it as soon as I saw it. I think I planted it in a wrong spot though. I really don't want to move it now....it's growing nice this year.

I love how they just spread so easily and underneath the trees too. Such good ground cover:o)

This one grows like a shrub Petaltracey. I would love if it fills the corner it's in.

I've got this one, Alex...but I haven't seen it flower yet. It was badly damaged by our late frosts this year...strange because it's usually tough as old boots! :(

verry sunny - lovely Alex

Nice to see this. Mine hasn't flowered for years.

Karen,
I was afraid mine didn't like the soil last summer when I bought it. It looked terrible after I planted it. It looks really nice this year. How tall do they grow?

Thanks Paul. ;o)

Thanks Hywel. Maybe yours needs to be moved? I don't really like moving plants once in the ground but sometimes it has to be done.

Here they can get reasonably big, Alex. But they are usually cloud pruned to around 1m. I got mine on the assumption that it would like shade...but I see them doing really well in full sun - everywhere except my garden!

lol.....when did you buy yours?

I planted mine behind a fan palm to fill in the corner. Once the palm grows (they grow fast) it will look really nice.

I planted it last March...I'll give it this summer...and if it doesn't get going, it'll be going - somewhere else! ;)

They do look lovely once they've all filled out.

I had to tear mine out. It never flowered and looked messy and took over! I don't think I put it in the right place.

I think yours will flower nicely next year. Mine didn't do good the first year either but this year.....ou la la.

1 Jun, 2012

You should have put it in another spot Lauram?.?.?

1 Jun, 2012

I'll give it this year, Alex...but I'm not patient enough to give it into next summer too...

But then, sometimes when they know they're drinking in the last chance saloon, they suddenly perform! lol!

Oh dear :o( I moved it and then it stopped flowering. I can't move it back because there's a path there now. Maybe I'll put it in a pot ...
Nice to see yours though :o)

I've had this in a big pot before too, Hywel, and it didn't do well at all...
...but, maybe it's just me - maybe I'm just not meant to grow this... lol ;)

2 Jun, 2012

I hope you get yours to bloom Hywel. ;o)
I lost a plant I really really liked today...I moved it here, moved it there, changed pots hoping it would do something....nothing. ;o(

You give up too easy Karen ;o)))

3 Jun, 2012

Aah, you think, Alex??

But, you're probably right...No patience! lol! ;)))

3 Jun, 2012

Lol....I usually wait until the plant is brown with no leaves before I give up.
I honestly don't have much patience either Karen ;o)))
