I have a white phlox but it's very tall, about 4' high and doesn't flower until mid summer. When it does flower, it's very impressive - everyone asks what it is!!

Are you thinking of the summer flower Phlox paniculatas Sheilar? I have a lot of them too and they get very tall and so pretty.
Thats funny Paul I have just suggested 'Candy stripe' to you on another photo. Your garden will really suit them.

I find they are straggly when first they flower but if clipped after flowering it helps keep them compact PP

I have cut it right back this week so hopefully I will see some new Strong growth soon!

I did this to some of mine after flowering last year and was very pleased how quickly they start to regrow PP
