Love whitebeam...and they always seem to grow in a good shape! Sheila, I thought of you today...as I swithered about whether or not to buy an Amelanchier! In the end I saw a variegated Fatsia so that had to come with me instead! I may still get an Amelanchier, but not sure. I really want a Victoria Plum and I might be able to squeeze one in near the pond!

Swithered? Love it! The blossom on a Plum tree will give you as much pleasure as an Amelanchier, and fruit too. :)) I do love Amelanchiers, and they are frequently recommended for small gardens as I'm sure you know, probably because the leaves are very attractive, BUT the pretty white blossom rarely lasts longer than two weeks . . . :((

Yes, I'm glad I didn't succumb now. I do pick up those little scottish words don't I. Trouble is I've now forgotten that they are scottish and that not everyone is familiar with them...well, there's a new one for your vocab. Sheila..."swithering" means you are finding it hard to decide..it's a good one isn't it?!
