I agree Lulu, but I am no expert, I would like one like that especially if it is a Montana. The Montanas I have have only four petals and quite a small flower. Maybe another case of incorrect labelling at the nursery. No doubt Crissue will let us know when she is back on line.

I'll have to get my labels out Ladies, I have the small variety too, and they're in bud...in fact all my Clematis except the Winter flowerers are in bud...OK We have two Hagley Hybrid and Nelly Moser...neither a Montana, really sorry about that, senior moments again...:o))) Not sure which one is which they are similar...will check again..

Looks a bit like Hagley Hybrid, but mine is only just starting to grow again, so cold here today, even when the sun is out.

Thinks you're probably right Lulu...I know them all off by heart, but for the life of me lately, I can't recall...

I wouldn't say we're warmer here but we haven't had such cold winds or hail, we're only getting spits and spats of rain too...

Have decided now that she has opened it's more like Nelly Moser, but still gorgeous, and huge...Thanks Hb
