Oh, that is a picture. Poor little tree is probably missing the snow!!!

We are suppose to have a drop down to -6C for tomorrow night and a high of 8C during the day....I'm not leaving my house!!! We don't normally see those type of low temps. I'm starting to miss the heat!

Palmate

Is that sand or fake snow ?

26 Dec, 2011

Cute little tree :o)

Stickitoffee:

Thanks! :>)

did you decorate it delonix?

26 Dec, 2011

Alexandramou:

Well, this little tree is definitely not going to see any snow at the beach. lol! :>)

WOW!!! -6ºC are you sure? That's unbelievably cold! That's enough cold to wipe out a lot of subtropical trees and plants.

26 Dec, 2011

Palmate:

It's definitely sand! lol! :>) It never snows here...except in the high mountains of San Diego County.

Terratoonie:

Yes, I thought it was very cute, also. I talked to the owner who said Santa Claus brought it to the beach from the North Pole. :>)

26 Dec, 2011

Achhhhhhhhhhh. Must be beautiful to take a swim in the ocean on X-mas.

26 Dec, 2011

That was kind of Santa Claus to bring the tree ...
and a great opportunity for his reindeer to enjoy a paddle in the ocean after so much flying ... ;o)

Delonix,
That's what the weather man said. It won't drop that low for us, I don't remember it dropping to minus anything since I've lived here.....it's more for the mainland right across from us. We might see a zero....that is still brrrr cold.

26 Dec, 2011

Weather update for Delonix:
The low for Corfu.......7C during the night. That's not too bad but still brrr cold. I had the radiators and the wood burner going last night.

27 Dec, 2011

Alexandramou:

That's more like it! Much more mild than -6ºC! I would have a heart attack if they said it was going to be this cold here in San Diego (here where I live...although the chances of this happening is nil) I've had some morning lows of 6ºC., which is very cold! Although, it's been warm for the last 5 days, and all this week through the weekend temps to 75ºF/24ºC or warmer. New Years day it may reach 80ºF/27ºC. We can't ask for better than that. :>)

LOL....It was really warm and sunny here yesterday...felt like 18C. We had to take our gillets off. I'm starting to miss our nice HOT weather now....

I asked my dad about -C.....he looked at me like I've gone daft!!! No he said.....not here. Makes me feel better! Need to keep all my plants alive.

Oh, I would looooove 27C at the moment. Go swimming with the sharks or something Delonix.

28 Dec, 2011

But your guests won´t like cold waters, will they?

28 Dec, 2011

Ahah! Very sweet little tree...it looks perfectly happy in the sand! :))))

28 Dec, 2011

Katarina:

I would never go swimming in the ocean this time of year. The water is way too cold...I'd freeze to death! The water temp is only 62ºF/17ºC.

29 Dec, 2011

Stickitoffee:

It was decorated by someone who lives at the beach.

29 Dec, 2011

Alexandramou:

Today the high temp was 80ºF/27ºC...it's a very nice mild evening, also. I love it! My type of San Diego weather! :>)

Karenfranceafrica:

Yes, it's perfectly at home in the sand.

29 Dec, 2011

I've lived most of my life near the sea....or very close to one (even in NY).
My favorite time to go swimming is in August....the water is so hot and inviting. OOOOhhh, I'm missing the summer now. I don't like the cold!

29 Dec, 2011

Oh, you're making me jealous, Alex...I'm living very close to the Atlantic...but I'm too scared to go in!

29 Dec, 2011

Alexandramou:

I've lived my whole life by the Pacific Ocean. I don't think I'd like to live very far from the ocean. I can see the Pacific Ocean and all the Coronado islands from my house.

29 Dec, 2011

Hi Delonix1 I love the christmas tree Is the sand that white, lucky you its freezing down here in Devon :))))

29 Dec, 2011

Karen,
I love to look at the sea and listen to the sounds it makes....even if I can't swim in it. (too cold for me now)
I've noticed the first thing my hubby and I do in the morning is look out the window to the sea. Like Delonix, I couldn't live far from the sea.

30 Dec, 2011

Delonix,
Like you, I can see two of the four islands clearly from my house. (one of them is uninhabited)
I had a big window built so I can see the sea and the lightning! I've turned that room into my garden room.

30 Dec, 2011

Cmsue:

Thanks! :>)

Yes, the sand is this white. lol!

That's horrible! Freezing temps! We don't get frost or freezing temps here in San Diego.

31 Dec, 2011

Alexandramou:

On very clear days I can see the smaller and furthest Coronado Islands, typically I can only see the closer and larger ones.

31 Dec, 2011

our sea temp is 10 degrees and im sure it doesn't get that much hotter in the summer..you have to be hardcore to swim in the seas over here...unless your mad....but then again over two thousand nutters braved the sea over christmas around here ..bit of a tradition..boxing day in tenby and new years day in saundersfoot...most in fancy dress...lol

Sandra:

I don't think you can say "get that much hotter" in the sentence above. 10ºC is COLD water! It would be just a little less cold. lol! :>)

Here in the U.S. they have the Polar Bear Plunge, when the swimmers on New Year's Day plunge into the cold waters all over the U.S. They do it here in San Diego, however, it's not as big a deal as at the Great Lakes or Northeastern states, where the water is very cold.
