Mourning Cloak Butterfly
I don't get to see a Mourning Cloak but maybe once a year if I'm lucky, so when this beauty visited for the whole afternoon I was thrilled ! They use willows for a host plant along with many other trees and shrubs.

Indeed spectecular and like a midieval cloak, nice colours. So clever you know all those insect names. I am enjoying your pics very much and I am soon coming back to check out the rest. It is bedtime here now!

Wow....how lovely, I've never seen this one before either ! You need to start a journal on all these exoctic looking beauties that grace your garden, or at least make a calendar with these little lovelies on it. I believe both would really sell ! I'd be first in line.
What else?
