El Sid 2

El Sid 2 (Sidalcea)

Several of these have been recently appearing in my parents' small garden. We didn't know what they were, as they were not intentionally planted. Thanks to GoY, have discovered what they are. A nice surprise for mid November :-)

Eye-catching, aren't they, David ..
Lovely vivid pink to brighten the winter garden.

There are 4 of these growing in a narrow gravel border my Dad and I created one day in early summer, but we didn't plant them. I agree, the colour is amazing.

You probably need to thank the birds then, David! . . . . .

What a stunning shade of pink....

Probably, Shirley. Perhaps the seeds lay dormant until we disturbed the soil, too?

Isn't it, DottyD? Managed to ID this from pics here on GOY, it was the colour which first helped. Most pics seem to be of a named variety "Party Girl" but, as my Dad's plants are "accidental", cannot go so far as to say that his plants are of that variety.
