The Hosta/Woodland Bed

The Hosta/Woodland Bed

We've made a few alterations to this bed now, by adding more logs taken from the old felled tree...moved two Hostas back...and they are now in what is a bank, with a piece of tree bark across the front to support it...we then laid bark on the lower level, to form a little path...Even managed to get three pieces of rooted Ivy...plants for free...I've planted one in a little pot and tucked in down behind a log...

Just to add...I want to plant Cyclamen here later on, and maybe woodland type little plants of interest when the Hostas rest in winter...and as if by magic, one of the hostas has a little flower stem...

That looks great Crissue! will look nice with the ivy growing around it..reminds me of a painting I did..Lovers entwined together forever with the lovers sitting on a tree stump with ivy growing up around them! You need a wee sculpture of that! lol i am making a sculpture of Rick for the garden..lol its going to be soooo heavy..oh well at least it wont get blown down by the high winds!

You are talented Pixi...thanks for your comments...

Hi Paul...The area tho nice, looked very flat...and I pinched a little bit of your ideas, and combined them with my own.. :)) The other thing I realised is I had to be able to get to the bed safely, hence the bark path, so now I have my own very mini woodland path lol...ne nah

that looks really good Crissue, like the idea of the wood in between and the edging. Really woodland looking, Cyclamen would be brilliant in there. Great idea well done.

Thanks Bornagain...I've been waiting all day for the delivery by Fedex of my Clematis that will be planted on the Willow Trellis in front...Now I find they say they've got the wrong delivery address...so I've sent them a note confirming the address...not a happy bunny....

I think you're impatient like me...I find these deliveries so exciting, like having a present delivered...so disappointing:-(

It is exciting, but annoying too when you've actually been given the delivery date, and ability to track the progress too..They are coming from UK, so need to be here sooner rather than later....

Let's hope they're ok by the time they arrive.:-)

I do hope so...I'm waiting for a mail...or the bell to ring...or something...to put my mind at rest...

Just a note to add the Clematis arrived safely yesterday, the chap was very apologetic, he was there but got lost...so near eh...never mind they're all well, and the Crystal Fountain has three flower buds, which after soaking all night in saved rain water, one bud has started to open...good start... :))
