Firecracker is a very apt name!

Absolutely! Obviously you've heard the noise as the seedheads pop open. I've found little ones in the strangest of places out in my courtyard. This is one prolific self-seeder!

Gorgeous Orange....

Now you know why I was thinking of getting another of those Iris domesticas to add to my courtyard garden. I think that lovely spotty orange Iris would go so well with this Crossandra.

You're lucky yours self-seeds. I've never had any grow from seeds...even though, my plants produce lots of seeds.

Andy, I started with 2 plants early last year. Now I think there's about 20 scattered around the various pots out in the courtyard. I'll have to get in and remove them one day I know, but as it happens they've all sprung up in pots where they seem to match the plant already in the container. I've found them in both the potted Dracaenas, the potted Aralias and the Ixora.

Wow 20 plants! I wish I had 20 plants. I may have to take some of the seeds I've saved and plant them.

I'm ashamed to say I've probably pulled out another twenty and thrown them in the fire pit. I just don't have anyone to give them to or have anywhere else to plant them. I think I'll have an endless supply of these plants for some time to come.

Bernieh:

I know it's shameful, however, we can't keep every plant that germinates...or we'll have no room. lol! :>)

I do sell off as many plants as I can (which germinate). Sometimes it's worth it and sometimes it's not.
