Thanks - yes, we get an awful lot here. One of the downsides of living in an old house. :-(

My M.i.L. used to - she was of the era when crocheted mats were everywhere in the house. I have a small tablecloth that she made!

I was lucky to find the webs - I was amazed at their transformation!

12 Dec, 2010

wonder if the spider needs skis to get around on this!

15 Dec, 2010

I think we should be in mourning for the little thing, to be honest, unless spiders hide somewhere and survive, do they?

15 Dec, 2010

No idea if they survive or not, but what a great photo - reminds me of the antimacassars my grandmother made for the arms and backs of the chairs. She taught me to crochet when I was a child, but I've totally forgotten how to do it, not having done it since.

15 Dec, 2010

No, I wouldn't know how to start now, Bamboo. You're right - my M-i-L's house had mats and antimacassars around. I remember my aunt doing it, as well.

15 Dec, 2010

Amazing work. It is obviously very cold where you are then?

15 Dec, 2010

It was -7 for two nights, then it stayed minus during the following days so we had frost on frost, Dd. We've had a respite since then - it's hovered between -3 and +5, with light frosts.
